Portraits of rock musicians Painted as monumental temple

Chinese artist DU Kun has long concealed a devotion for music and rockstars. The Beijing-based artist and also a musician himself is awed by the creation of music, aspects of fame, and also the intangible aura of being a revered rockstar. He frequently paints the four components of earth, water, fire and air, and puts them in secretive ethers that makes a mystic, misty air.

Kun is presently exhibiting the Revels of the Rock Gods series for his first solo performance in Japan at Mizuma gallery in Tokyo through February 13, 2016. You’ll be able to explore close-up details and a collection of Kun’s work on his website. (via Hi-Fructose)
